Defending your ground against pressure from several sides. Your position is being challenged, and it is worth holding. Stand your ground with conviction rather than defensiveness. The Seven of Wands says the high ground is yours — you only have to keep it.

Exhaustion from constant defending, or a position no longer worth the fight. You may be holding a hill that has stopped mattering. Ask whether this is still your battle. Some ground is better ceded than guarded.
